Sharing a request before the other parent joins

Send a request from your own phone while you are the only parent in the record, so it shows when you asked.

Until the other parent joins, nobody in De Kind can answer your requests. You can still make them, and you can send any pending request to the other parent yourself. The record then shows that you asked, and when.

How to share

  1. Make the request as usual on the Requests page.
  2. Open it and tap Share this request.
  3. Your phone's share sheet opens. Pick WhatsApp, Messages, email or anything else. If your device has no share sheet, the message is copied for you to paste.

The button only appears on your own pending requests, and only while the other parent hasn't joined.

What is shared

A short message saying what the request is about, such as “a pickup on Saturday 12 October”, and a link. The link opens a page with your first name and that summary, and one option: join De Kind to reply.

What is not shared

Your description stays inside De Kind. So do any notes. Link previews in messaging apps show only “A request on De Kind”, with no names or dates.

What the record shows

The request shows “Shared outside De Kind by [your name]” and the date and time. If you copied the link instead, it says so. That means you sent it. It does not mean it was delivered or read, and the record never claims otherwise. If you share the same request more than once, it shows the first date and how many times. Exports show the same single line.

When the other parent joins, the request is waiting for them and they answer it the normal way. Its notice is still measured from when you made it.

De Kind doesn't contact them about it

Sharing a request never makes De Kind email, text or notify the other parent. The message comes from you, on your phone, and we don't record who opens the link.

Sharing is free, on every plan.
