On Premium, De Kind can text you about requests — when the other parent sends you one, and when one you sent is accepted or declined. SMS is deliberately limited to requests (the things that need a reply); costs and custody logs stay on email and push so your phone isn't buzzing all day.
What you need
- A Premium household.
- A verified mobile number (one-time setup, below).
Set it up
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Under Mobile number for SMS, click Add number.
- Enter your number in international format, e.g.
+447911123456, and click Send code. - We text you a 6-digit code. Enter it and click Verify (the code lasts 15 minutes).
- Once verified, switch on the SMS toggle next to New request received and/or Request resolved.
What you'll receive
Short texts like "Alex sent you a pickup request on De Kind. Open the app to respond." It's included in Premium at no extra cost.
Changing or removing your number
In Settings → Notifications, use Change to verify a different number, or Remove to delete it. Removing your number also switches the SMS toggles off.
Your privacy
Your number is stored encrypted, used only for these alerts, and is never visible to the other parent. Opt out any time by switching the toggles off (or replying STOP to a message).
Didn't get the code?
- Check the number is in full international format (starts with
+and your country code). - Give it a minute, then try Send code again — up to 3 codes an hour.
- Verified but no alerts? Confirm you're on Premium and the SMS toggle is on for that event.
