I've lost my household invite code

The code is shown in your Settings while it's still unused. If it's already been claimed or expired, contact us to generate a new one.

When you create a household, De Kind generates a single-use 8-character invite code that the other parent uses to join. It's displayed once on the success screen, then surfaced again in your Settings as long as it's still valid.

Where to find it

  1. Sign in and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Household section.
  3. If the code hasn't been used yet, you'll see it displayed there in XXXX-XXXX format with a copy button.

If you can't see it

That means one of the following is true:

  • The code has already been used. If the other parent joined successfully, you'll see them listed in the Household section as Parent B. No new code is needed — you're paired.
  • The code expired. Codes expire 7 days after they're created if no-one joins.
  • You created the household before invite-code tracking was added (unlikely, but possible for very early accounts).

Need a fresh code?

Self-service code regeneration isn't in the app yet. Until it is, drop us a note via the contact page with the topic set to Account access and we'll regenerate one for you within a business day.

Sending the code to the other parent

From the success screen after creating a household, you can also enter the other parent's email and we'll send them the code and a one-click join link directly. This avoids transcription errors and is the recommended path for new households.
