If you started Premium inside the De Kind Android app, the subscription belongs to Google Play. Google takes the payment, sends the receipts and handles cancellation and refunds. De Kind never sees your payment details. Google tells us only whether the subscription is active, so we can switch Premium on for your household.
Who can manage it
Only the parent who bought it, signed in to Google Play with the same Google account they used to buy it. Premium covers both parents in the household, but the other parent can't change or cancel it. Their Billing page shows who manages it.
Cancel
- In De Kind, open Billing and tap Manage in Google Play. Or open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Choose De Kind.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow Google's steps.
You keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that, your household moves to the Free plan. Nothing in your record is deleted. On Free, older entries are hidden from view, and they come back if you start Premium again.
If your subscription started with a free trial, cancelling before the trial ends means you aren't charged.
Uninstalling the app or deleting your account
- Uninstalling the De Kind app does not cancel the subscription. Google keeps billing until you cancel in Google Play.
- Deleting your De Kind account does cancel it if you bought it: when the deletion completes, we ask Google to stop all further payments. To be sure, you can also cancel in Google Play yourself first. See deleting your account.
Change between monthly and yearly
Cancel your current plan in Google Play (above). You keep Premium until the paid period ends. Once it has ended, start the other plan from Billing in the app.
Refunds
Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled by Google. Shortly after a charge you can usually request one from Google Play yourself: open your Google Play order history and choose Request a refund. If Google can't help, email [email protected] with the order number (it starts with GPA.) and we'll look into it.
If a payment fails
Google retries the payment and Premium carries on for a few days while it does. If the payment still can't be taken, Premium pauses until you update your payment method in Google Play. Your record is never deleted, and Premium comes back as soon as the payment goes through.
New phone or reinstalled the app
Install De Kind from Google Play using the same Google account, and sign in to De Kind. The app finds your subscription when it opens and switches Premium back on.
